"Should the BBC stop stereotyping India?"
On April 17, BBC's travelling unit, BBC Pop-Up, released a short video story on how snake charmers have been banned in India.
The video acknowledges the fact that portraying India as a land of snake charmers is an offensive stereotype.
As part of the story, they tweeted a poll asking users if India should "erase its snake charming culture to embrace modernity" followed by the "🐍🏢" emojis.
However, with no context given in the tweet, Indians did not respond well to it.
