At least 14 death-row inmates sitting in Indonesian jail for drug related offences were told they had a few days to live on Tuesday.

"This is the largest group of executions we've seen ordered by [Indonesian president Joko Widodo] in a group to date," Amnesty International Australia campaign coordinator Diana Sayed told BuzzFeed News.
"Amnesty International is calling on the Indonesian government to halt all of these executions until there is transparency around whether fair trial standards were implemented in all of these cases but we condemn the death penalty as a cruel, inhumane and degrading punishment."
"The executions can take place any time, but there will not be a 'soap opera' about it this time," Indonesia's chief security minister Luhut Pandjatan said, referring to international furore over a round of executions in April 2015 when Australians Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran were killed.

In 2005 The Pakistani textile worker was sentenced to death for smuggling 300 grams of heroin into Indonesia.
"Ali's case just shows that international law has repeatedly been violated from the time of his arrest, throughout his trial," Sayed said.
